Corten steel bin store: keep your wheelie bin neatly out of sight
General waste, organic waste, recycling: many homes quickly have two or three wheelie bins. And they usually stand in the most visible spot, next to the front door or on the driveway. A bin store keeps them neatly out of sight.
That is why we now offer the Refugo bin store in Corten steel, a closed cabinet for one wheelie bin up to 240 litres, in the same warm rust colour as our planters and letterboxes.
What is a bin store?
A bin store is a cabinet around your wheelie bin. The bin stays on its wheels. You drop your rubbish in through the top lid, and on collection day you roll the bin out through the front door, so you never have to move the store itself.
Which size do you need?
Common wheelie bin sizes are 120, 140, 180 and 240 litres. A 240 litre bin is roughly 1.10 m high, 0.60 m wide and 0.75 m deep. Always choose a store for the largest bin you use. The Refugo measures 750 x 780 x 1271 mm (L x W x H) and is made for one 240 litre bin. Smaller bins fit as well.
Where to place a bin store?
Place it on a flat, paved surface and leave enough space at the front to open the door and roll the bin out. During the first weeks Corten steel forms its rust layer, so do not place it directly on light natural stone or against a light facade, as run-off can stain.
More than one bin?
Place two or three Refugo units side by side, one per bin. Combine them with Corten steel planters or a Corten steel letterbox for a front garden finished in one style.
