Corten steel pond edges: custom capping profiles for a pond of almost 10 metres
A long, narrow pond deserves an edge as clean as its shape. For this garden we made custom corten steel capping profiles that run as a pond edge along the full perimeter of a pond almost ten metres long.
At the head of the pond, a waterfall cover in the same corten steel was added, so edge and waterfall fit seamlessly together.
What is a capping profile?
A capping profile slides over an existing edge, such as concrete kerbs, stacking blocks or the wall of a pond. It finishes the edge neatly in one go and hides what lies underneath. On a pond, the profile covers the top of the pond wall and the pond liner, so all you see is a straight line of corten steel.

A pond edge made to measure
For straight edges we offer our standard U-profile capping profile in corten steel. This pond needed more: long, continuous lengths and perfectly fitting corners. That is why we made the capping profiles fully to measure, matched to the dimensions of the pond. The result is an uninterrupted pond edge that sharply frames the water against the lawn and terrace.

Corten steel waterfall cover
At the head of the pond stands a waterfall with a corten steel cover, in the same style as the pond edge. The water flows back into the pond and keeps it moving, with the soothing sound of running water.

Why a corten steel pond edge?
Corten steel develops a warm rust patina that pairs beautifully with greenery and water, and can be bent precisely to size. A corten steel capping profile gives a pond a clean, architectural edge, hides the liner and protects the top of the pond wall. It is also a way to renew the edge of an existing pond without rebuilding it.
