You therefore do not receive a kit, and there is nothing to assemble. Simply place, fill and plant. Key benefits Made from strong 2 mm thick Corten steel Fully welded: no assembly required Fitted with a bottom with drainage holes 15 mm feet for better drainage 50 mm folded top rim for extra sturdiness Low-maintenance and weather-resistant Suitable for gardens, terraces and professional outdoor spaces Fully recyclable material Why choose Corten steel? Corten steel is a weathering steel that forms a natural rust layer outdoors. This layer gives the planter its recognisable orange-brown colour and protects the underlying steel from further deterioration. The colour develops gradually. On delivery, the product may still be steel-grey or only partially rusted. Through exposure to rain, air and outdoor conditions, the planter gradually develops its final warm rust colour, giving every Artesa planter a unique, natural look. Corten steel does not need to be painted or treated. This makes this planter particularly suitable for anyone looking for a durable, low-maintenance and characterful solution for outdoor spaces. Technical features The Artesa planter is designed for long-term outdoor use. The sturdy bottom with drainage holes allows excess water to drain away smoothly. This prevents water build-up in the planter and gives plants better growing conditions. The 15 mm feet keep the planter slightly raised off the ground. This supports drainage and makes it easier for rainwater to flow away. The 50 mm folded top rim gives the planter extra sturdiness and a neat, finished look. Placement advice The Artesa planter can be used as an eye-catcher on a terrace, as a green divider, along a driveway or at the entrance of a home or business. It also works well in hospitality venues, corporate gardens, school grounds and public spaces. For a cohesive look, you can combine multiple Artesa planters or pair them with other Corten steel elements such as edging, retaining walls, pedestals or mailboxes. The planter is suitable for ornamental grasses, perennials, bamboo, shrubs and compact trees. Always choose suitable potting soil and make sure water can drain away properly. Important points about Corten steel Unpack the planter as soon as possible after delivery. If moisture remains trapped between the packaging and the product, uneven staining can occur. During the rusting process, rust-coloured water may temporarily run off the planter. Place Corten steel carefully on light natural stone, tiles or other sensitive surfaces. Provide adequate drainage and avoid letting the planter stand in standing water for long periods. Preferably use a drainage layer at the bottom of the planter and a water-permeable fabric above the drainage layer. This keeps excess water better under control and gives the plants good growing conditions.

Provide adequate drainage and avoid letting the planter stand in standing water for long periods. Preferably use a drainage layer at the bottom of the planter and a water-permeable fabric above the drainage layer. This keeps excess water better under control and gives the plants good growing conditions.

Key benefits Made from strong 2 mm thick Corten steel Fully welded: no assembly required Without a bottom: ideal for direct placement in open ground Open underside for natural drainage and contact with the ground 50 mm folded top rim for extra sturdiness Low-maintenance and weather-resistant Suitable for gardens, terraces and professional outdoor spaces Fully recyclable material Why choose Corten steel? Technical features The Artesa planter without bottom is designed for long-term outdoor use. Thanks to the open underside, water can drain naturally into the ground. This makes this version particularly suitable for placement in open ground, in borders or in areas where plants may be in direct contact with the soil. The 50 mm folded top rim gives the planter extra sturdiness and a neat, finished look. Depending on the size, internal reinforcements are added where necessary so the planter keeps its sleek shape. Placement advice The Artesa planter without bottom can be used as an eye-catcher in the garden, as a green divider, along a driveway or at the entrance of a home or business. It also works well in hospitality venues, corporate gardens, school grounds and public spaces. This bottomless version is mainly suited to placement on a water-permeable surface or open ground. If you want to place the planter on a terrace, tiles or another hard surface, check beforehand whether the open underside and possible rust run-off are suitable for that use. For a cohesive look, you can combine multiple Artesa planters or pair them with other Corten steel elements such as edging, retaining walls, pedestals or mailboxes. The planter is suitable for ornamental grasses, perennials, bamboo, shrubs and compact trees. Always choose an appropriate soil base and make sure water can drain away properly. When placing on open ground, we recommend preparing a flat and stable base. This keeps the planter standing straight and allows excess water to drain away smoothly.

Calculate your sizeWhich planter should you choose?
You choose a good planter on three points: the material, the shape and size, and whether it needs a bottom. Where it will stand also matters: on a terrace, in the garden, on a balcony or in a public space.
Material
- Corten steel: forms a rust-brown layer outdoors that protects the steel. No painting or maintenance. See the corten steel planters and read What is corten steel?
- Aluminium: light, rust-free and powder-coated in the RAL colour of your choice. See the aluminium planters
- Wood: warm and natural, like the Fusta in solid hardwood. See the wooden planters
Shape
- Rectangular or square: the Artesa, our most popular planter, in many lengths, widths and heights
- Round: the Ronda in several diameters and heights
- Sleek: the Vaso
- Organic shapes: the Ovalu and the Vora, see also organic planters
With or without a bottom?
A planter with a bottom goes on a terrace, paving or balcony. Our standard planters with a bottom have a 50 mm folded top rim, 15 mm feet and drainage holes. A planter without a bottom is placed directly on the ground, as a border, raised bed or tree surround, so excess water drains away naturally. See planters with bottom and planters without bottom.

Frequently asked questions
How do I fill a planter?
Start with a drainage layer of gravel or lava rock of about 10 cm. Add a water-permeable root fabric, then fill with potting soil to 2 to 6 cm below the rim. In a large planter you can fill part of the lower volume with a lighter material.
Does a corten steel planter leave rust stains?
In the first months, rainwater may carry some rust colour onto the ground. Once the rust layer has stabilised, this decreases significantly. Avoid placing it directly on light paving or natural stone.
What size planter do I need?
For herbs and small plants, a height of 30 to 40 cm is enough. For shrubs or a small tree, choose a planter at least 60 to 80 cm high and wide.
Can I get a planter in another colour?
Yes, the aluminium planters are powder-coated in the RAL colour of your choice. Corten steel gets its colour from its natural rust layer.
