The parcel letterbox that gets a Royal Decree
In recent years, we have all become more focused on living in an environmentally conscious way. In every area, we try to reduce our footprint. Transport has a major impact on the environment. This can be improved by reducing CO2 emissions, combining deliveries and so on. One car trip is better than two. One of the small changes that makes a big difference is the parcel letterbox.
The parcel letterbox is green
Today, e-commerce is not only an easy way to shop, it can also be more environmentally friendly. Because many purchases are made online, a courier can deliver them in a single route, leaving everything in a parcel letterbox. This not only simplifies e-commerce, it also saves the buyer extra trips. If you are not at home when the parcel arrives, you normally have to drive to a pick-up point. Thanks to parcel letterboxes, that double trip is a thing of the past.
A political decision
The benefits of the parcel letterbox, and the idea behind it, have now caught the attention of politicians as well. Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Petra De Sutter recognised that parcel deliveries can cause a lot of inconvenience. The journey from an online purchase to delivery at the customer's home should not only be easier, but also more environmentally friendly. Now that a legal framework has been created, sales of parcel letterboxes will only increase. People who live further from the city, for example, can now more easily choose home delivery. A win-win for everyone.
