Aluminium is the lightest material in the Geroba range: corrosion-resistant, low-maintenance and available in the RAL colour of your choice.
What is it?
Aluminium is a lightweight metal that is naturally corrosion-resistant and does not rust. At Geroba, aluminium products such as the Artesa planter are neatly welded and then powder-coated in the RAL colour of your choice, from a range of more than 200 colours.

What does Geroba use aluminium for?
Aluminium is found in the Artesa planter, as a colourful alternative to Corten steel or hardwood within the same line. Thanks to the RAL colours you can easily match the planter to your garden or facade elements.

Maintenance
Aluminium products need virtually no maintenance. Thanks to the powder coating and the corrosion resistance of the material, the colour stays even, even in prolonged outdoor use. Place the planter on a flat surface so that water can drain away properly through the base and the feet.

FAQ aluminium
No. Aluminium contains no iron and therefore cannot rust the way steel does. The metal forms a thin oxide layer by itself that protects it against further corrosion. Scratches in the powder coating can expose the aluminium underneath locally; this then oxidises to a visible matt finish, but does not lead to rust or flaking.
Aluminium is naturally low-maintenance. Cleaning it periodically with lukewarm water and a soft cloth or mild soap is enough to keep the powder coating looking good for years. Avoid abrasive agents or a pressure washer at close range, as these can damage the coating.
Yes. Aluminium withstands frost, rain and UV radiation and therefore does not lose strength or colour. Unlike terracotta, for example, aluminium cannot crack from frost, so our aluminium products can stay outdoors all year round.
Certainly. Aluminium is corrosion-resistant, even in prolonged contact with water, which is why it is often used for ponds, water tables and other water features. Have a look at the Estani pond in aluminium, for example.
Yes. Aluminium is 100% recyclable without loss of quality and, thanks to its protective powder coating, lasts for decades without rusting or weakening. That makes it an environmentally friendly and durable material for outdoor use.
Maintenance of aluminium
Aluminium needs hardly any maintenance. An annual clean with lukewarm water, a soft cloth and, if needed, a neutral soap keeps the powder coating in top condition. Our Geroclean maintenance cleaner was developed specifically to clean and refresh powder-coated surfaces safely.
Avoid aggressive cleaning agents, scouring pads or a pressure washer at close range: these can damage the coating. Small scratches are nothing to worry about, since aluminium does not form rust.
